about

I wrote this song for my mom and performed it at her 80th birthday party. Over the next couple years I was encouraged to record it. With the help of studio engineer/creative partner Luke Stangohr and musicians Jesse Mueller, Jeff Whitcher, Luke Stangohr, Riley Carroll, and Allison Raney we created this record. I hope you enjoy it and share it with everyone you know.

lyrics

Wasn’t it you who held me when I was frightened?
Wasn’t it you who calmed me when there’s lightning?
And isn’t true you taught me no to fighting’?
And isn’t true your soul has been enlightened?

Oh mama you taught me all the fine things.
You taught me not to do the wrong things.
Oh mama you brought me safely to this world.

I’m gonna find some way to show you.
How happy I am to know you.
Oh mama I see you in my little girl.

And though I know someday you’ll leave me.
I’m gonna love everything that I see.
Oh cause’ mama you taught me to appreciate this world.

So mama this song’s for you.
I’ll sing it out let it ring true.
Oh mama, mama I sure love you.
